The Green Wheel is a futuristic indoor gardening concept created by Milan-based studio DesignLibero. The rotary gardening concept is based on NASA’s hydroponic system that was originally designed for use in space craft and space station. The plants are rooted in a circular bed, like a mini ferris wheel, around an LED light placed in the middle of the device. A water reservoir placed at the base nourishes the plants. The plant bed completes rotating one full circle once an hour. The eco-friendly device allows you to grow variety of agricultural products. The circular design provides larger growing area compared to normal planters of the same size.
